What is the type of skin you have?

Skin types are classified into five categories.

Normal Skin

Normal skin has moderate sebum secretion and good skin moisturization. The texture of the skin has a regular pattern with the intersection of pores. However, without proper moisturizing care, the skin can easily dry out and temporarily become dry. There is no need to change your current skincare, but it's better to use products that are appropriate for the changing seasons.

Dry Skin

Dry skin is a condition in which the skin lacks both moisture and oil. The decrease in moisture and hydration in the stratum corneum, which serves as the skin's barrier function, leads to further dryness. For dry skin, choosing a product containing moisturizing and water-retaining ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and ceramide is important. It is also important to use an emulsion or cream containing moderate amounts of oil to keep the moisture replenished.

Oily Skin

Oily skin is a condition in which the skin becomes oily due to excessive sebum production. It is prone to shine, makeup breakdown, and other skin problems such as clogged pores caused by excess sebum and acne caused by it. If you have oily skin, it's good to choose a product that controls sebum secretion. The key is to supply plenty of moisture which is controlling excessive sebum secretion to prevent moisture from evaporating by using a lightweight lotion with low oil content.

Combination skin

Combination skin is a condition in which the skin around the mouth and eyes is dry, but the T-zone is shiny. When the skin becomes dry, it tries to retain moisture by increasing the secretion of sebum. This is why the skin is dry, but the T-zone has many sebaceous glands and produces excessive sebum. As with dry skin, it's good to choose a product that contains hyaluronic acid, ceramide, and other moisturizing and water-retaining ingredients. You can use lotion and cream as well. However, using less of them on the T-zone.

Sensitive skin

Sensitive skin is a condition in which the skin barrier function has deteriorated due to progressive dryness, making it vulnerable to external stimuli. The loss of moisture in the stratum corneum, which is responsible for the skin's barrier function, makes the skin susceptible to damage from even the slightest irritation. Moisturizing the skin is also important to improve sensitive skin, but people with sensitive skin also easily feel irritation from cosmetic ingredients. When choosing basic cosmetics, it's good to choose hypoallergenic products for sensitive skin.
